The years behind us put you years ahead!
Where it began in 1990, Melbourne VIC
Multitech has been providing specialised shotblasting services to the construction industry for over 45 years. We are based on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, and our coverage area is Australia Wide.
In 1982 Multitech purchased the revolutionary BLASTRAC 115D Captive Shot Blaster specifically for the New Parliament House project in Canberra texturing the substrate prior to the bitumen membrane system being applied – this was the first time anyone in Australia had used this type of machine to achieve texture. prior to this the only way was to open blast with Garnet or sand hence the name “Sand Blasting“. This set a new standard in the flooring industry to eliminate acid etching etc.
The Shot Blasting Industry took off and numerous companies purchased walk behind shot blasters predominately Blastrac branded machines, the 200,000 M2 on parliament house gave Multitech the reputation as industry leaders in the field of Captive shotblasting.
In early 2001, Multitech were asked to travel to WA, and assist in preparing the deck on the biggest aircraft carrier in the world at the time ‘USS Abraham Lincoln’. What an honour!
Following this amazing opportunity to showcase our skills, Multitech decided to once again be innovation leaders with the 2002 purchase the of a state-of-the-art DH4800 machine in the USA (one of only 4 machines made in the world at that time).
We used that machine in America for a further 5 years working with the US Military, preparing aircraft Carrier decks and govt projects doing bridge decks, tunnels and of course lots of roads!
By the time 2008 rolled around, Multitech decided it was time to test the water in Australia and bring a brand-new machine over from the USA. Things started slowly, as potential clients were concerned about the damage shot blasting may do to their pavements, but little by little the benefits were seen and people started to understand the huge benefits that can be achieved by captive Shotblasting.
So, in 2022 we bought in our 2nd DH4800 to complete our current fleet of 7 ride on shotblaster. (see in equipment)
With the over 20 years doing roads, bridge decks & tunnels here in Australia we have amassed a lot of knowledge and understanding to our Aussie environment having completed over 1 million M2 of Asphalt, so we’re excited about what the future holds.

Multitech would like to thank TMR and TfNSW for helping them get the technology out there to the industry, and continue their relationship with them to this day.
